WHO IS KIRSTY BAXTER

Awared 'Oustanding Nutritionist' in the African Women in Healthcare Awards 2026.

As a Registered Nutritionist (UK) and a member of the Complimentary and Natural Health Council, Kirsty has dedicated over a decade to transforming health through evidence-informed nutrition.

Holding an MSc in Advanced Nutrition from the UK, Kirsty has extensive clinical practice experience with more than 7,000 clients, working across a wide range of health conditions. She was the first nutritionist in Zimbabwe in 2016 and has since become a leading voice in integrative and functional medicine.

Her ongoing education includes certifications in Functional Medicine from the Institute of Functional Medicine, USA, and numerous other qualifications in nutrition, marketing, and health sciences. Kirsty’s approach combines scientific rigor with personalized care, supporting clients with evidence-based strategies to improve health and manage chronic diseases.

A prolific researcher and speaker, Kirsty has published research in European Journal of Integrative Medicine, contributed to national and international conferences, and been recognised with awards such as Best in Class Nutritionist in Africa (2024/25). She is also the founder of Klean Wholefoods, Zimbabwe’s first gluten-free health food producer, and actively mentors health professionals and communities.

Kirsty’s dedication, innovation, and leadership continue to inspire positive health transformations across Zimbabwe and beyond.

WHAT I DO

Personalised nutrition and lifestyle medicine

Diet and exercise need to be balanced in order to optimise your health. You can't out-train a bad diet. By combinding diet and exercise you will optimise your health and body composition. 


I give you the tools to incorporate healthy eating with your exercise regime to create a personalised recommendation and meal plan 

SERVICES

In-person One-on-one or Online Consultations

Weight loss (with or without GLP-1): Initial consultation and thereafter 15min

follow-ups every 2-3 weeks providing support and

accountability in the weight loss journey


Gut Health: Dysbiosis, IBS, Sibo, Celiac, gastritis, acid reflux, colitis, auto immunity, food allergy 

Involves the initial consultation and assessment. May involve a form of an elimination diet, and includes a personalised recommendation with supporting meal plan

including recipes. If an elimination is used to repair gut dysbiosis, a full follow-up appointment is required.


Metabolic Health: including PCOS, menopause and hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, hypertension, cholesterol, uric acid, Type 1&2 diabetes 

Involves the initial consultation and assessment to formulate a personalised recommendation with supporting meal plan including recipes. Improved metabolic health may involve weight loss.

TESTING: (POA) 


Functional Testing  I am trained in functional testing (see list below) and applyjng functional medicine in clinical practice (Institute of Functional Medicine, USA)


Food sensitivity test, identifies over 268 foods based on your own blood. This is a blood test that gets sent via Courier across the border with an import permit to a lab in South Africa who extrapolate the bloods. The results are used to create a personalised recommendation specific to your anti-body production.


Organic acids Test (OAT) are products of the body’s metabolic pathways and provides insight into important areas related to: gut health (candida, yeast and mould), mitochondrial dysfunction, neurotransmitter status, indicators of detoxification and macronutrient breakdown and nutritional status. This is a urine sample test, that is extensively used for Austism


GI-MAP (GI-Microbial Assay Plus) quantitatively assesses a patient's microbiome with attention to bacterial, parasitic, and viral pathogens that can cause disease, disrupt the normal microbial balance, and contribute to chronic Gl illness. The GI-MAP was designed to detect microbes that may be disturbing normal microbial balance or contributing to illness as well as indicators of digestion, absorption, inflammation, and immune function. This is a stool test. 


Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, shows mineral balances, 9 toxic heavy metals, 15 nutritional minerals, 6 additional elements, 6 significant mineral ratios with 6 nutrient – toxic ratios. This test is conducted from a sample of hair
